Extended Consumer Advice
'Julie & Julia' is a drama about a woman who writes a blog working her way through Julia Child's 1950s French cookery book.  The film contains one use of strong language and moderate sex references.

The film contains a single use of strong language as a man swears about a woman's potential publishers. The use is not directed and is said without aggression in a throwaway manner.  There are also several non-aggressive uses of 'bitch' used as reported or self-directed speech.

In terms of moderate sex references, the film also includes a passing use of 'these damn things are as hot as a stiff cock' as a woman juggles hot cannelloni from a boiling pan in her hand. The phrase is light-hearted and used to highlight surprise at a risqué phrase used by a rather proper woman in the 1950s.  In addition the film contains several kissing scenes, some in underwear or on beds.

No-one younger than 12 may see a '12A' film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult.  No-one younger than 12 may rent or buy a '12' rated video or DVD.  Responsibility for allowing under-12s to view lies with the accompanying or supervising adult.
